Custard tarts

I am trying to perfect the custard tart, which I think I would have done by now had I had a decent 20cm spring form one that ….. hmmmmm……. didn’t leak custard all over my oven.

The first tart I made was fine though I didn’t actually eat any of the base, not cause there was anything wrong with it but just cause I couldn’t eat it with my toth problems. I am feeling much better these days though and I am almost back compleatly to solids. Next step is to see the dentist again on tuesday so we will see.

Update 6.7.08 - I have since bought a new spring form and some of those cool ceramic pie beads and we are slowly getting the hang of it. I think one more go and it will be up to scratch ( and by up to scratch I mean good enough to take to lambs go for mikey) The current one I think could have had a slightly thinner base and more vanilla in the custard.

At lest the filling stayed in this time
