The tree

We went and saw “the tree” you know the big one where the kid from home alone is found at the end of the movie. Rockafella centre for those of you who don’t know the one.

I knew it was going to be big but I didn’t know just how big it was going to be, I also didn’t realise it was a real 75 year old tree that was cut down and flown in by helicopter and topped with a big crystal star. Rather typical of the americans I’m not sure I liked finding out it was a 75 year old tree though sparked all kinds of hippy bones in my body. Despite that though it was kinda aweinspireing to look at.

why is it that americans can have a giant christmas trees and completely deck out entire cities with christmas paraphernalia, but they have to say ‘happy holidays’ instead of ‘merry christmas’?
