Teaching a childrens yoga class
Published by Bonnie February 22nd, 2006 in YogaSo this week end saw a catch up with friends from school, some very yummy and healthy food, some great yoga and meditations, some bush walking that nearly killed me and and some accomidation that was like something out of a seventies monistary.
My yoga friends and I don’t do catch ups like haveing coffee together when we catch up, we really really catch up and go all three day retreat style :D. It was a blast though I thought I was about ready to drop and curl into a ball on the sunday but at the same time I felt alive and refreshed.
I planned and taught a Children’s yoga class with the help of Rachael which went down a treat. Its never easy to teach a children’s class that is for both children and adutls and there must have been about 12 odd kids and a room full of yoga teahers watching how I handled things. I enjoyed it though, you know me I love a good challange anything that makes me think out of the box a little.
Chris came up with me and I belive he quite enjoyed him self at lest after he got over the funney smell and the materesses that looked like they had come from the salvos
It was my third time on one of these retreats so at lest I knew what to expect, still I did try to warn him, but then you can never quite prep people for that kinda thing.

“Whats ‘new age’?” “oddball religions. Sappy boring music. Pathetic attemps to convince oneself of the superiority of anything connected with indians. Non western medicine.” “But you don’t like regular medicine.” “that’s because doctors are always trying to tell me I’m crazy. If I had a broken arm I would be a big fan of Western medicine.”
