Circadian rhythems
Published by Bonnie November 2nd, 2005 in Bonnie PhilosopyLife is ruled by cycles, life as a female even more so, there is something both comforting and deaply unnerving about this. Comphorting because a patturn or repition is soothing to the psyche, as humans we often look for paturns in things, even when there are no paturns, ever wondered why childrens song are so repiticious? Unerving because being ruled by paturns denotes a certin lack of control the seasons change weather or not you want them to and if your a female once a month ( if your lucky) you will become craby, teary and over come with total useless emotions.
There is nothing you can do about cycles except wait for the next part of the cycle to begin and hope that you enjoy it rather than spending each stage of the cycle wishing for a differnt stage. I spent most of primary school wishing I was in kindergarten, most of high school wishing I was in primary school, most of uni wishing I was in high school and most of the time I am working wishing I was at uni. I also spend most of sumer wishing it was winter, most of winter wishing it was summer and people with hayfeaver seem to spend autem and spring wishing it was anything other than autem and spring.
So how do we find the balance beteen comphorting repitions and defining / controling cycles?? How do we sooth the human psyche while not letting out side influences define our lives? How do we manage to find that balance?
